Danger Add IFL Veterans to Coaching Staff

GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA - The Nebraska Danger Indoor Professional Football Team is pleased to announce its assistant coaching staff for the 2019 season. Danger head coach Pig Brown has added past Danger assistant coach Kyle Moore-Brown as Assistant Head Coach / O-Line Coach, along with former Danger players Jameel Sewell and Xzavie Jackson at Offensive Coordinator and Special Teams Coordinator, respectively.
Assistant Head Coach / O-Line Coach: Kyle Moore-Brown
A veteran of indoor football, Kyle Moore-Brown returns after a year off for his third season as assistant head coach with the Danger. He spent 15 seasons in the Arena Football League, playing on both the offensive and defensive lines. Moore-Brown won two AFL championships, was named to the All-Ironman team three times, and set a record for playing in 236 consecutive games. For these accolades, he was selected as an Arena Football Hall of Fame Inductee. After switching to coaching, Moore-Brown started with the La Crosse Spartans in 2010-2011 before taking the head coach position for the newly created Cedar Rapids Titans in 2012. He is a native of Newark, Jew Jersey and was a three-year letter-winner at defensive tackle for the University of Kansas from 1990-92. Last year he was the GM for the indoor football team the Jersey Flight in Trenton, NJ and also works with children with disabilities as well as coaches youth football.
Offensive Coordinator/QB/RB/WR Coach: Jameel Sewell
Back after a year off from coaching with the Danger, IFL Hall of Famer Jameel Sewell returns to the Danger for a second season of coaching as Offensive Coordinator. A two-time IFL MVP, Jameel Seweel was one of the most dynamic offensive players in IFL history during his six year IFL career. A former starting quarterback at the University of Virginia, Jameel Sewell began his IFL career in 2011 as a member of the Green Bay Blizzard. During his time with the Blizzard, Seweel showed glimpses of his playmaking ability to come after he passed for 12 touchdowns and rushed for six in limited playing time. In 2012, Sewell joined the Nebraska Danger where he would flourish and lead the team to three consecutive United Bowl championships (2013-2015). In 2013, after leading the IFL in passing yards (2,531) and rushing yards (654), Sewell was named the IFL MVP. Sewell was again named IFL MVP in 2015 after leading the Danger to the United Bowl championship again. A dual threat QB, Sewell was twice named as a First-Team All-IFL selection and ranks third all-time in IFL history in rushing touchdowns (88), fifth in rushing yards (2,157) and sixth in passing touchdowns (151). Sewell currently works at a group home for youth as well as works at a fitness center and coaches flag football, while working diligently to open his own group home for juvenile delinquents and mentally challenged adults.
Special Teams Coordinator / Defensive Line Coach: Xzavie Jackson
An IFL player since the league formed, Jackson joined the River City Rage as a rookie and helped the team progress to the 2009 United Bowl. Jackson then enjoyed a two-season stint as a member of the La Crosse Spartans. In his second season in La Crosse, Jackson's elite pass rushing skills began to flourish as he finished fourth in the IFL in sacks with 12.5. In 2012, Jackson began his five-year tenure with the Cedar Rapids Titans and quickly became one of the most dominant defensive linemen in the league. An anchor member on the Titans' aggressive defense, Jackson finished the season with double-digit sacks in three of his five seasons with the Titans, culminating in leading the IFL in sacks in 2013 and 2016. Jackson's 49.5 career sacks,as a Titan, is a team record and helped Cedar Rapids advance to four consecutive United Conference championships. Jackson signed with the Danger in 2017, having accumulating 77 sacks in his IFL career through 2017, the most in the league. Jackson finished the 2018 season injured, but in 11 games, accumulated 24 tackles, an interception, 3 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries (including one for a touchdown), and even a kickoff return for 6 yards. Jackson also racked up 4.5 more sacks, adding to his league record for most career sacks with a new total of 81.5. Over his career, Jackson was named to five All-IFL lists: First Team All-IFL DL four times (2011, 2013, 2015, 2016) and a Second Team All-IFL DL twice (2012, 2018). During the games Jackson spent injured, he transitioned into a coaching role for younger players, and looks forward to his new full-time role coaching for the Danger this season.
