Danger & Screaming Eagles to Meet in Intense Conference Match-Up
April 18, 2017 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Nebraska Danger News Release
GRAND ISLAND, NE - In an important Intense Conference match-up, the Salt Lake Screaming Eagles will travel to Nebraska to take on the Danger this Saturday night. Kickoff for Military Appreciation Night on April 22nd is scheduled for 7 pm.
The Danger have already traveled to Salt Lake this season, winning 78-47 in the first game of the season, dashing the dreams of the Screaming Eagles in their first ever game as a franchise. That game seems like a distant memory now, as both teams have made numerous roster changes and have settled into the season.
The Screaming Eagles have developed a high-powered passing offense as they rank second in the league in both passing yards per game (184) and total yards per game (249.7). Those yards have not always led to points, as Salt Lake only sits at sixth in points per game (43.1). Those missed opportunities are vital to winning in the IFL, especially when the Screaming Eagles defense is allowing 53.9 points per game which is tied for last in the league.
The Danger will be looking to regroup this week after dropping back-to-back games, including last week's 14-48 loss against the Iowa Barnstormers.
"We need to be more focused this week," said Danger head coach Hurtis Chinn. "Just about everybody made very uncharacteristic mistakes last week and we just couldn't recover from those mistakes. If we can just take a breath and get back to playing our style of Danger football, we'll be just fine."
A win on Saturday would keep the Danger right in the middle of the hunt for a playoff spot in the Intense Conference. The Spokane Empire (5-2), Arizona Rattlers (4-3), and Danger (4-4) are all fighting for two playoff spots in the conference. The Empire and Rattlers face each other this week, so the Danger would pick up a win on one of those two teams with a win over Salt Lake.
Kickoff is set for 7 pm Saturday night at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island, with Military Appreciation Night as the feature. All Military, Reserves, and Veterans can get a free general admission ticket by showing ID at the Heartland Events Center Box Office. Doors open at 6:00 with pre-game activities beginning at 6:30.
Tickets for Saturday night are available at area Pump & Pantry stores, the Heartland Events Center Box Office, or via Ticketmaster. The game will be broadcast live on 2DayFM 103.1, or streamed live at www.2dayfm1031.com with live video available at DangerFootball.com/Watch
Following the game, an autograph party with Players and Coaches will take place on the Danger turf.
