LAWTON, OKLA- The Oklahoma Cavs Dance Team hosted their spring dance clinic Saturday morning at St. Mary's Catholic School gym.
Forty-four girls arrived early Saturday at the gym to learn choreography from Cavs Dance team choreographer Shelby McClure and three Cavs dancers Jada, Alicia and Crystal.
Crystal and Alicia taught the 4 to 9 age group. They learned a 45 second routine of basic choreography. Shelby and Jada instructed the older girls in a hip hop routine.
The participants received a t-shirt, a free ticket and the opportunity to dance at halftime at the Cavs last home game of the regular season.
In front of a crowd of over 1,500 fans, the girls performed their routines at halftime.
Four-year old Imagine Acklin performed first with the first group.
"She really enjoyed it, and is ready to do it all again," said Imagine's mom. "For the parents, the clinic was very informative and encouraged us to keep our girls dancing."
McClure said the dance clinic was a huge success with the 44 ladies that participated.
"I was extremely proud of all the children in attendance. They danced their heart outs and had a great time!" said McClure. "I was honored to teach them."
