Frederick Keys News Release
The Keys mastery of the Salem Red Sox continued Tuesday night as catcher Justin Dalles sparked the Keys offense with a third inning home run and Frederick did not look back in a 7-1 win in Salem. Dalles went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI's on the night. The home run was the first in his Keys career.
Trailing 1-0, the Keys had not reached base in the first two innings. But Dalles changed that with his blast. Later in the frame both 2B Jonathan Schoop and SS Manny Machado registered two-out RBI hits and the Keys led 3-1.
LHP Jake Pettit (2-0) was in control once again after working six shutout innings in his debut in Wilmington on July 13th. The South Atlantic League All-Star went six innings allowing a run on five hits.
On the night Machado, Dalles, DH Kipp Schutz and LF Bobby Stevens each registered two hits. With the win the Keys have won ten in a row against Salem. The Keys are now 57-37, a season-high 20 games above .500.
The series continues from Lewis-Gale Field Tuesday, July 20th at 7:05 p.m. the Keys look for the four-game sweep. LHP Nathan Moreau looks for his 11th win of the year - a league high. Coverage will begin 20 minutes earlier on 1450-AM The Source.
