Dallas Mavericks Re-Assign Dwight Powell to Texas Legends

FRISCO, TX, (Mar. 11, 2015) - The Dallas Mavericks have re-assigned center Dwight Powell to the Texas Legends, the Mavericks' NBA Development League affiliate. The assignment is the 166th of the 2014-15 NBA and NBA D-League seasons.

Powell (6-11, 240, Stanford) has appeared in 19 games for the Dallas Mavericks this season averaging 3.5 points and 2.1 rebounds. He played four seasons at Stanford averaging 10.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists. Powell was selected in the second round (45th overall) of the 2014 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets and subsequently traded to Cleveland where he played three games in the NBA Summer League and averaged 5 points, 3.7 rebounds and .7 assists. In previous assignments with the Legends, Powell averaged 30.5 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks.

Powell is expected to be in uniform tonight as the Legends host the Reno Bighorns at 7pm. The game will be broadcast live on television-Texas 47-as well as radio-KVCE1160am-and online at www.TexLegends.com.
