'Dads Approaching 2,000th Home Run

Hickory, NC - The Hickory Crawdads are hitting home runs at a record pace in 2013. As a result, the 'Dads are quickly approaching the 2,000th home run in franchise history. To celebrate this slugging achievement, the Crawdads are encouraging all fans to come to L. P. Frans Stadium this weekend for a chance to witness history and come away with some cash.

As part of the 2,000th Home Run Celebration, one lucky fan in attendance for the record setting blast will take home 2,000 pennies ($200) as well as an autographed ball and photo from the Crawdad home run hitter.

The Crawdads currently lead all of Minor League Baseball and Major League Baseball with 42 long balls through just 26 games this year. MLB's Atlanta Braves are currently the closest team to the 'Dads with 39 homers. Joey Gallo leads the way for Hickory with a South Atlantic League high 9 bombs.

The 'Dads also have a full slate of promotions for the rest of their home stand. Friday night features Bark at the Park and Most Improved Student Night. Saturday's festivities start at 8:00 am with the Home Run Trot 5K Race and continue during the 6:00 pm game with Conrad's 21st Birthday Bash and Replica Jersey Giveaway! Sunday, May 5th starts with the Waterlife Church service from 3:30 to 4:15 then continues with the Crawdads Cinco de Mayo celebration with $2 margaritas, Bud Light Lime-A-Ritas and Coronas available in the Crawdads Café.
