Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release


Kannapolis, NC ;Kannapolis (18-26) beat Delmarva (15-29), by a final score of 4-2, Wednesday at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium.

Intimidators SP Derek Rodriguez simply dominated the Shorebirds to seize his 6th win of the season. Rodriguez was perfect through 5 IP. He finished after a season-high 8 innings of work, having allowed only 2 ER. Anderson Gomes hit a solo homerun, his 6th, to left to power the I's at the plate. Aaron Cunningham went 3-4 and drove in 2 runs for Kannapolis. Cunningham along with Paulo Orlando each picked up 2 stolen bases. John Wesley finished the job with a perfect 9th, while striking out 2 Shorebirds, to pick up his 3rd save of the season.

Kannapolis takes to the road until August 21st. The Intimidators begin a 4 game series tomorrow at Charleston. Ricky Brooks will be on the mound for the Intimidators. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm.
