FARMAR MAKES 24: The Los Angeles D-Fenders have been assigned guard Jordan Farmar from the Los Angeles Lakers. He is the 24th NBA player assigned to a D-League affiliate this season. Farmar has played in 62 games for the Lakers, averaging 4.8 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. He was selected with the 26th pick in the first round of the 2006 NBA Draft.
DOUBLE SHIFT: Jordan Farmar is poised to become the first player to play in both a D-League and an NBA game in the same day. The Lakers plan to recall him following today's D-Fenders game to be in uniform against the Sacramento Kings. Both games are at the STAPLES Center.
THEY SAID IT: "The thinking behind it is that it would be really great to have Jordan get a game in which he really has sustained minutes to play - get some shots, get back in rhythm again... we haven't been able to practice at a full-court level for any duration of time. Maybe once a week. So he's lost rhythm and confidence in some of the great offensive things that he's done for us." ... Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson told the Los Angeles Times about assigning Jordan Farmar to the D-Fenders.
TO THE POINT(S): Sioux Falls established a new league record for points in a game by scoring 145 in a win over Colorado on Saturday. The previous record was set on March 16 of this season when Arkansas put up 142 on the 14ers.
