
D-Fenders wash away Mad Ants

FORT WAYNE, IN - Elijah Millsap notched his second triple-double of the season as the Los Angeles D-Fenders defeated the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 117-91 on Saturday night. Millsap (20 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists), who notched a triple-double on January 20th at Bakersfield, recorded the fourth triple-double of the season for the D-Fenders well as the fourth in team history.
Los Angeles (28-11) displayed high defensive intensity throughout the game and limited Fort Wayne to 42.9 percent from the field, allowed 15 total assists from the entire team, and forced 23 turnovers. In addition, Los Angeles, the league-leader in steals per game (10.3), swiped 14 steals.
What's further, the D-Fenders held Mad Ants to just 33 points on 36.1 percent shooting in the first two quarters combined, marking a season-low for points scored by a D-Fenders opponent in the first half.
Newly acquired Jamario Moon totaled 18 points (8-12 FG), four rebounds and five steals, Malcom Thomas recorded 17 points, 10 rebounds along with four blocks for his second straight double-double, and Otis George scored 15 points (7-11 FG) to go with eight rebounds for the D-Fenders.
Additionally, Orien Greene posted 13 points and six assists, Zach Andrews added 12 points and seven rebounds and Courtney Fortson contributed 10 points, seven assists and three steals in the win.
Fort Wayne (11-27) was paced by Cameron Jones (18 points [8-10 FG], 4 rebounds), Charles Garcia (18 points, 9 rebounds) and Devan Downey (14 points). Meanwhile, Darnell Lazare pitched in 10 points to round out the Mad Ant scorers in double-figures.
After finishing 2-1 on a three-game road trip, the D-Fenders return home and next play on Saturday, March 10th against the Dakota Wizards. A limited number of tickets are still available for the only Los Angeles-Dakota matchup of the season at Toyota Sports Center.
