D-Fenders Ground the BayHawks in Wire-To-Wire Rout

EL SEGUNDO, CA - The Los Angeles D-Fenders (31-17) defeated the Erie Bayhawks (16-32) 154-136 on Wednesday night at Toyota Sports Center.

The D-Fenders began the game shooting very effectively from beyond the arc, as they converted nine three-point field goals en route to a first quarter season-high tying 45 points. In the second frame, Los Angeles wasn't as adept at knocking down three-point field goals, but leaned on a strong defensive effort, forcing Erie into eight turnovers, to secure a double-digit halftime lead. In total, the D-Fenders shot 54.3 percent from the field and 50 percent from the three-point line in the first half.

Los Angeles picked up where they left off in the first quarter from beyond the three-point line in the third period. The D-Fenders racked up six more three-point field goals and 10 assists on their 13 made field goals in the third. Leading by 15 points entering the final twelve minutes, Los Angeles never allowed Erie to get within single-digits in the fourth quarter, and completed their second wire-to-wire victory in a row.

Both Terrence Williams (31 points, 12 rebounds, six assists) and Josh Magette (16 points, 11 assists) posted double-doubles to head the D-Fenders attack. In addition, Brandon Costner (25 points, eight rebounds), Shawne Williams (24 points, nine rebounds), C.J. Williams (17 points), Andre Ingram (15 points), James Southerland (14 points) and Josiah Turner (12 points) all finished in double-digits as well for Los Angeles.

The Bayhawks were paced by Justin Brownlee (42 points) and Lewis Jackson (17 points, 18 assists). Scott Suggs (33 points) and Ty Walker (10 points) also finished in double-digits for Erie.

Tonight's point total marks the fourth time this season that the D-Fenders have topped the 150-point plateau. Furthermore, the D-Fenders outscored Erie in each of the four quarters. Overall, Los Angeles made 22 of their 43 three-point field goal attempts, which is good for 51.2 percent.

The D-Fenders travel back on the road for their final two contests beginning on Friday, April 4th, against the Iowa Energy at 4:30pm, at Wells Fargo Arena, in Des Moines, Iowa.
