Wednesday, Los Angeles (96) @ Tulsa (103) - Expo Square Pavilion

The 66ers (15-21) outscored the D-Fenders (19-18) 35-12 to help gain the lead and eventually snap a three-game losing skid. The win was also the first home victory for Tulsa since January 27, and the first against the D-Fenders this season. Tulsa placed five players in double-figures. The D-Fenders got 22 points off the bench from Andre Emmett. Brian Chase (17 points), Andre Patterson (14 points), former 2005-06 Tulsa 66er Sean Banks (13 points) and Jackie Manuel (11 points) also scored in double-digits.

Friday, Los Angeles (103) @ Colorado (114) - Broomfield Event Center

This win is the fifth in five games for the 14ers over the D-Fenders this season. Colorado improves to 25-14 on the season with the win, while Los Angeles drops to 19-19 with the loss. The 14ers ran out to a 24 point lead early in the second quarter behind strong first half performances from Harris and Elton Brown. Harris came off the bench to score 11 points on five of five shooting, while Brown had nine points and eight rebounds in twelve minutes. Sean Banks countered with 16 first half points for Los Angeles, and the D-Fenders cut the Colorado lead to 53-49 at the half. Behind a game-high 29 points off the bench from Banks, Los Angeles cut the lead to one on two occasions in the third quarter, but the D-Fenders never pulled closer than five points in the final period. Andre Patterson finished with 14 points, and Wesley Wilson had 11 joining Banks as the only D-Fenders in double figures in the loss.

Saturday, Los Angeles (96) @ Colorado (114) - Broomfield Event Center

This win gives Colorado the season sweep of the six game series with the D-Fenders. The 14ers improve to 26-14 on the season with the win, while Los Angeles drops to 19-20 with the loss. Los Angeles jumped out to a 19-4 lead in the first quarter behind four three pointers from guard Brian Chase. He had 16 points in the opening period as the D-Fenders built a 20 point lead on the road. The Colorado comeback began in the second quarter behind the strong play of swingman Terrence Crawford. He had seven points and five rebounds in the period, and helped the 14ers outscore Los Angeles 32-19 and take a 55-54 halftime lead. The 14ers held Los Angeles to just four of 23 shooting, and a new NBA Development League record low 13 points in the period. Outscoring the D-Fenders by 11 in the quarter, Colorado took a 79-67 lead into the fourth period before going on to the win. Sean Banks led all scorers with 27 points and 10 rebounds in defeat for Los Angeles.

In The Standings

Los Angeles is clinging to third place in the Western Conference at .487 (19-20). The Colorado 14ers are six and a half games ahead with .650 (26-14) and still occupy second place in the division. The Idaho Stampede have a firm grip on first place at .711 (27-11), eight and a half games ahead of the D-Fenders.

Coming Up

The D-Fenders return home this weekend with two games. Los Angeles hosts the Albuquerque Thunderbirds at STAPLES Center, before the Lakers game, on Friday, March 16 with a 3:30pm tip off. This will be the fifth meeting between the D-Fenders and Thunderbirds, with the series tied at 2-2.

Then, catch the Laker Girls when Los Angeles hosts the Fort Worth Flyers at STAPLES Center, before the Lakers game, on Sunday, March 18 with a 1:00pm tip off. This will be the third meeting between the two teams, with this series tied at 1-1. The Laker Girls will be signing autographs on the concourse at Halftime. Fans can also enter a sweepstakes to try and win a Lakers and a D-Fenders autographed team ball, winner will be announced during the 3rd quarter break of the D-Fenders game. Entry forms will be located at the Season Seats Booth on the main concourse of STAPLES Center (Figueroa Street Entrance) and the sweepstakes is open to anyone 18 years and older. Completed entry forms must be turned in by the end of Halftime during the D-Fenders game.

Having a Lakers ticket for a STAPLES Center home game is also your ticket to a lower level seat for the D-Fenders. Lakers season ticket holders who attend a D-Fenders home game will receive a special gift, while supplies last, by visiting the Season Ticket Holder Booth on the main concourse at the Figueroa Street Entrance.

On July 31, 2006 the Los Angeles Lakers announced that they had become the first NBA franchise in history to own an NBA Development League team. The Los Angeles D-Fenders play their home games at STAPLES Center pre and post Lakers home games. The Lakers devoted fans were given the opportunity to name the NBA D-League team in an online naming contest.
