D.C. United Acquires Davy Arnaud from Montreal Impact

Washington, D.C. (December 10, 2013) - D.C. United today announced the club has acquired veteran midfielder Davy Arnaud from Montreal Impact in exchange for an international roster spot for the 2014 and 2015 Major League Soccer seasons. Arnaud played in 57 games (52 starts) in two season with the Impact and was named captain of the team both years.

"Davy is a versatile midfielder who has a wealth of MLS experience," said D.C. United General Manager Dave Kasper. "He will add leadership on the field and in the locker room, and we look forward to having him as part of United."

Arnaud, a 12-year MLS veteran, was originally selected by the Kansas City Wizards in the fifth round of the 2002 MLS SuperDraft. In total, he has played 297 matches (265 starts), scoring 48 goals and assisting 43 more.

The midfielder has made seven appearances for the U.S. Men's National Team, and scored his first international goal in the group stage of the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
