January 3, 2008 - SPHL (SPHL)
Twin City Cyclones News Release
The Twin City Cyclones, members of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL), are pleased to announce the completion of an off-season trade with the Fayetteville FireAntz. The Cyclones sent forward Edan Welch in return for defenseman Dylan Row. Row will be joining the Cyclones' roster and former FireAntz teammate Josh Piro this week.
"We are thrilled to have Dylan join us and for the trade to finally be complete. We look for Dylan to shore up the offensive side of the blueline," commented Mark Richards, Head Coach and General Manager of the Cyclones.
Row, a native of Winnepeg, Manitoba, helped guide the Fayetteville FireAntz to their SPHL Championship last season, along with current Cyclone Josh Piro. Row appeared in 51 games and posted 41 points for the FireAntz last season. Following the conclusion of the SPHL's 2006-07 season, Row spent time with the Port Huron Flags of the United Hockey League. The 5'-11", 195-pound blueliner played college hockey in the NCAA with Brown University.
In other Cyclones' news, Twin City has hired Jorge Alves as Head Equipment Manager. Jorge has experience in many locker rooms, as both a player and equipment manager. He also spent time with the Carolina Hurricanes as an assistant to the head equipment manager. "We think Jorge will be a perfect fit for our organization because of his experience and dedication," remarked Mark Richards.
