Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
THIS PAST WEEK:
About Saturday Night vs. Evansville: Matt Smyth registered his first professional hat trick to help lift the Cyclones past the IceMen by a 5-2 final score in front of 7,146 at U.S. Bank Arena. Team captain Mathieu Aubin enjoyed a three assist game as well. After Saturday's victory, the Cyclones have earned points in ten straight games.
About Friday Night vs. Toledo: Rookie goaltender Michael Houser earned his second shutout of the season as the Cyclones defeated the Toledo Walleye 3-0 in front of 4,604 at U.S. Bank Arena. Mathieu Aubin's second period goal turned out to be his third game winner of the year.
About Wednesday Night vs. Florida: The Cyclones fought back with three goals in the third period to earn one point, but fell in overtime by a 5-4 final score to the Everblades in front of 2,497 at U.S. Bank Arena on Wednesday night. For the second straight game, Mike Embach posted a multi-point effort for the Cyclones.
SHOTS FROM THE POINT:
Pack Up The Suitcase: With another nearly-perfect week behind them, the Cyclones will play the next six games away from U.S. Bank Arena beginning Friday night with a visit to the Trenton Titans. Then on Saturday, the Clones will meet the Reading Royals for the final time this season. Both games are slated to start at 7:05pm.
Racking Up the Points: The Cyclones have earned points in ten straight games - the longest current streak in the ECHL. It's the first time since early in the 2010-11 season that they've been able to accomplish this feat and just the fifth time since returning to ECHL play in 2006.
At Home on the Road: The Cyclones have climbed to the second best road record in the ECHL. They have collected a 19-7-3-1 record away from U.S. Bank Arena, earning 42 points and a 70% winning percentage. Their next six games will be played away from 100 Broadway.
Coors Light Jarrod Skalde Show TONIGHT: Join us from 7-8pm at the Tap House Grill for another week of hockey conversation with Cyclones Head Coach Jarrod Skalde and Voice of the Cyclones Nick Brunker.
