The Pee Dee Cyclones wrap up their five game home stand this coming Friday Night (December 16th) against the second place Knoxville Ice Bears. The Cyclones begin the week in fourth place with a record of 9 wins-9 losses- and 2 overtime losses after defeating Huntsville last Thursday night and losing to Fayetteville on Saturday night.
Upcoming games & promotions: Friday, December 16th vs. Knoxville Ice Bears (7:35PM) @ Florence Civic Center. The second place Ice Bears (12 wins-5 losses-4 overtime losses) lead the season series 2-1. The Cyclones defeated Knoxville at the FCC 6-5 back on November 18th. Promotion: "Mascots Night". Bring the kids and meet your favorite area mascots as they celebrate the birthday of OUR mascot "CY", and stop by the Cyclones Merchandise Stand for great holiday gift ideas.
Saturday, December 17th @ Fayetteville Fire Antz (7:30 PM). The Cyclones travel to Fayetteville and the Crown Coliseum for the sixth meeting in the "Press Box I-95 Challenge Cup Series". The Fire Antz lead the series 4 games to 1 following their controversial 6-5 win over Pee Dee on Saturday night.
Cyclones Player Notes: Forward Edan Welch leads the Cyclones in scoring with 14 goals & 12 assists for 26 points in 20 games. Welch leads the team in goals scored with his 14. Shaun Aebig is second in scoring with 8 goals & 17 assists for 25 points. His 17 assists lead the âClones in that category. Trevor Karasiewicz is third in scoring with 7 goals & 16 assists for 23 points. Rookie Chris Murphy leads the team in penalty minutes with 116 in 19 games.

Join Cyclones Head Coach Mark Richards and selected players every Tuesday night at 7:30PM at the Phoenix Bar & Grill in the Thunderbird Hotel on Highway 52 and I-95 for the Cyclones Radio Show on 100.1 FM "The Fan" as a part of the weekly "Press Box PM" radio program with host Emerson "E-Daddy" Phillips.
Monday, December 12th, team members will be at the McLeod Children's Hospital at 2:30PM to distribute some of the 350+ Teddy Bears that were collected at the "Teddy Bear Toss" on December 3rd. Tuesday, December 13th, Cyclones players will be at Carver Elementary in Florence to play field hockey with the Carver Sports Club @ 2:30PM. Thursday, December 15th, forward Patrick Doherty will be reading to students at Carver Elementary in Florence @ 1PM and players will be visiting the Clinical Day Program of Florence Schools District One at the James F. Reames Center located at 1806 E. National Cemetery Road starting at 1PM. Saturday, December 17th, the Cyclones will participate in the Florence City Christmas Parade which begins at 11:00AM as our mascot CY will be in the parade.
