Cyclones Collect Six Points Over Weekend

The Cyclones finished out the weekend with a game in Columbus on Saturday night. Powered by their recent winning streak, Twin City battled the Cottonmouths, and with a third period offensive onslaught, the Cyclones received their fourth win in a row, 7-4.

The first period saw two goals, one from Columbus and one from Michael Richard. Heading into the middle stanza, the teams were knotted at 1-1.

Donald Melnyk gave the Cyclones the lead on a powerplay goal in the second period, but the Cottonmouths added three more to their total to put the score at 4-2. Before the end of the period, Marc Lefebvre got a chance at a penalty shot and capitalized on it to put the Cyclones within one going into the final period.

The third period belonged to the Cyclones. Phil Sbrocchi tied the game with a powerplay goal at 9:57. Ben Manny added another powerplay goal at 11:19 to give Twin City their second lead of the game. Shane Wagner took advantage of an empty net and lit the lamp again for the Cyclones at 19:18. With only a few seconds remaining in the match, Chad Swartzentruber added another for Twin City to put the final score at 7-4.

The Cyclones collected all six possible points with the wins against Richmond, Fayetteville, and Columbus.

The Cyclones have three games this upcoming week. The first stop being in Richmond on Wednesday. The Cyclones will return home to host Fayetteville for "Ruff in the Rink"/Pet Adoption Night on Friday, January 30th at 7:30PM, before heading to Fayetteville to battle the FireAntz again on Saturday.

Cyclones Put Out FireAntz, 5-4

The Cyclones welcomed the Fayetteville FireAntz into town on Friday night with hopes of winning their third game in a row. Even though the match went back and forth for much of the three periods, the Cyclones skated away with the 5-4 victory.

Cyclones Take One from 'Gades

The Twin City Cyclones made their return to home ice Thursday night as the Richmond Renegades came to town. Set on defeating the Renegades for the second time in a row, the Cyclones came out firing and were able to come away with the 5-4 victory.
