March 7, 2006 - SPHL (SPHL)
Twin City Cyclones News Release

The Fayetteville FireAntz defeated the Jacksonville Barracudas 9-0 on Tuesday night in Jacksonville, Florida. With the loss by Jacksonville, the Pee Dee Cyclones have clinched the sixth, and final Southern Professional Hockey League playoff spot!

Jacksonville, with 30 points in the standings and only four games left to play, can earn a total of 38 points with four victories. The Cyclones have already earned 39 points in the SPHL standings with five games remaining and thus clinch the last playoff spot. Pee Dee will, most likely, play the first place Knoxville Ice Bears in the first round of the SPHL playoffs. Barring any final changes at the top of the SPHL standings, the best of five first round series between the Cyclones & Knoxville will open in Florence on Friday & Saturday, March 24th & 25th with the final three games of the series, if needed, returning to Knoxville the following week.

Playoff tickets for the first two games in Florence can be purchased by calling the Cyclones office at 843-432-1234, Monday through Friday from 9AM to 5PM. The Cyclones return to the Florence Civic Center ice this Thursday night @ 7:35PM against the Columbus Cottonmouths.
