SITE: Spartan Stadium, San Jose.

TIME: 7 p.m. PDT.

Lark and Roger Chastain Celebration Game: The match against the Carolina Courage has been designated the Lark and Roger Chastain Celebration Game to honor both of Brandi's parents. Lark died of a stroke Sept. 7, 2002. Roger died April 8 following a heart attack. Originally planned as Lark Chastain Day, this game will honor the Chastains by benefiting causes that reflect the family values and priorities the Chastains promoted as parents. Memorial resolutions from the cities of Saratoga, Los Gatos and San Jose, Santa Clara County and the state of California will be presented to Brandi and her brother Chad. Proceeds from the pre-game soccer clinics will benefit Soccer for Hope, which aids children with life-threatening diseases, and the Silicon Valley Children's Hospital Foundation. Kaitlyn Langstaff, a 9-year-old Saratoga girl who lost her ability to see, speak or eat as the result of Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis, will be honorary captain for the 7 p.m. game. Miggs, a San Francisco rock band, will perform original music in the Fan Zone before the game including I Am the Same Inside, based on Kaitlyn's poem about her desire to be a normal child.

Mother's Day: It's not until Sunday, but it should be noted that 80 percent of the WUSA's soccer moms will be in uniform Saturday in Spartan Stadium. From the Carolina Courage, Danielle Fotopoulos has a 2½ year-old daughter Alexia, and Carla Overbeck has a son Jackson, 5½, and daughter Carson Elizabeth, 2 months. This is Overbeck's first game back since childbirth. For the CyberRays, Keri Sanchez has a 3½-year old son, Bryce, and Brandi Chastain has a 14 year-old stepson, Cameron Smith. The WUSA's other soccer mom is Joy Fawcett of the San Diego Spirit, mother of three.

CyberRays-Carolina series notes: This game will be the first-ever meeting between past WUSA champions. The CyberRays won the Founders Cup in the 2001 inaugural season, and Carolina won the trophy last season. ... This series is the WUSA's best barometer as to who the eventual season champion will be. The CyberRays swept all three matches against Carolina in 2001. Last season Carolina won all three games against the CyberRays. ... The series is tied 3-3, but Carolina holds a narrow 10-9 edge in scoring. ... This game is one of two visits by Carolina to Spartan Stadium this season. The Courage will return Wednesday, June 25, for a 7 p.m. match.

Game change reminder

The original date conflicts with the USA-Brazil game which is expected to take 11 players from the combined CyberRays-San Diego lineups. Please note this change on your office schedules.
