
CyberRays close season with loss and emotional retirements

The Bombers scored early and often to open the series against Lakewood with a 7-3 victory on Sunday night in Columbia.
The decisive blow came in the second inning, as the Bombers broke a 1-1 tie by getting four straight batters on base and sending all four home to open up the lead. Capital City held the âClaws at bay the rest of the way.
Individual notes:
Capital City outfielder Derran Watts followed his 3-5 (single-double-triple) Saturday with a 2-4 Sunday featuring four RBI and a solo home run. Starter Omar Anez tossed seven strong innings to get the win, only surrendering one earned run while striking out seven. Lakewood third baseman Terry Jones drove all three BlueClaws runs home, one in the first and two in the fifth. Corey Ragsdale and Edgar Rodriguez each notched a pair of doubles for Cap-City.
