Cutthroats End 2013 with a Win

Prescott Valley - The Denver Cutthroats and Arizona Sundogs finished the three-game series on Tuesday, December 31 at Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, Arizona. The Cutthroats defeated the Sundogs 4-3 to close the year 2013 14-9-6.

Dan Barczuk (Garett Bembridge, Aaron MacKenzie) scored the first goal of the night to give the Cutthroats the lead 1-0 over the Sundogs. Dan Barczuk (Troy Schwab, Bembridge) lit up the red light for the second time to close the opening period 2-0 Denver Cutthroats.

For a hat trick, Denver's Dan Barczuk (MacKenzie, Matt Glasser) scored the third goal of the night for the Cutthroats to hold a strong 3-0 lead over the Arizona Sundogs. Kevin Baker (Bryan Cameron, Jordan Clendenning) found the back of the Cutthroats net for the Sundogs first goal of the game. Arizona's David Rutherford (Brandon Coccimiglio, Paul McIlveen) fired a shot at top shelf to cut the deficit 3-2.

Cutthroats Garett Bembridge (Schwab) fired a shot in the third period to score the fourth and game-winning goal of the night. In an effort to come back in the last few minutes of play, Bryan Cameron (Baker, Matt McCready) slapped Arizona's third shot past Denver's Kent Patterson. Regulation time ran out before the Sundogs were able to match the Cutthroats one-point lead. Denver celebrates the New Year with a 4-3 victory over Arizona and a current 14-9-6 record.
