Cutthroats' Colorado Tour Ends in Overtime

Vail - The Denver Cutthroats wrapped up the Colorado Tour on Saturday, January 25 against the Arizona Sundogs at Dobson Ice Arena. In overtime, the Sundogs closed the weekend series 4-3 over the Cutthroats.

The Arizona Sundogs Garrett Clarke (Ian Schultz, Johan Ryd) took the lead 1-0 with three minutes remaining in the first period.

J.P. Chabot (Troy Schwab, Steve Kaunisto) scored the first goal of the night for the Denver Cutthroats to tie the score 1-1. Less than two minutes later, the Cutthroats took the lead with a shot between the Sundogs posts from Dan Barczuk (Garett Bembridge, Jason Cohen).

Garett Bembridge (Lee Moffie, Schwab) found the back of the Sundogs net to extend the Cutthroats lead 3-1 with 13:41 remaining in regulation. Arizona's Paul McIlveen (Justin Pender, Mark Isherwood) answered the Cutthroats goal to cut the deficit by one. Matt McCready (Michael Trebish, Kevin Baker) fired a puck past Cutthroats Travis Bosch to tie the score at 3 and send the game into overtime.

Jordan Clendenning (McCready, Trebish) scored the fourth and final goal of the night for the Arizona Sundogs to defeat the Denver Cutthroats 4-3 and sweep the weekend series.

The Denver Cutthroats hit the road to take on the Wichita Thunder at Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas on Tuesday, January 28.
