
Cutters Make Additions and Subtractions to Roster

New Haven County Cutters News Release
West Haven- The New Haven County Cutters Have been very busy in the past week adding three players and trading two. The Cutters have signed LHP Cory Willey, RHP Mark Comolli and OF Danny Bailey. RHP Josh Tomsu and OF Keto Anderson were also traded this past week.
Willey a former standout at Salisbury University (MD) originally signed with the Boston Red Sox, going 2-0 in 22 appearances in their farm system in 2004. Willey went 6-3 with 7 saves and an ERA of 2.34 his senior year of college. He started 12 games and appeared in 23, with five complete-game outings. The lefthander struck out 98 and walked just 32 while throwing 96.1 innings. He earned first team all-Capital Athletic Conference status in 2003 and second team NCAA South Region honors.
Mark Comolli spent the second half of the 2005 season with the Cutters where he went 2-2 with a 3.56 ERA while appearing in 19 games. Comolli started the 2005 season with North Shore Spirit, compiling a 1-3 record in 13 games. Mark was originally drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 25th round in 2001. Mark saw time with Syracuse AAA on two separate occasions while with the Blue Jays.
Outfielder Danny Bailey saw limited action last season appearing in just three games for San Angelo of the Central League. Bailey played at Coppin State University in Baltimore, MD. Danny can play all three outfield positions and adds great depth to the Cutters roster.
The Cutters also traded RHP Josh Tomsu to Atlantic City of the Atlantic League. Josh appeared in only 2 games last season compiling a 0-1 record and a 5.73 ERA. The Cutters will receive a player to be named later in return. Outfielder Keto Anderson appeared in 90 games for the Cutters hitting .288 with 4 home runs last season; he was traded to Alexandria of the United League. The trade was done to accommodate Keto's wishes of playing for a team closer to his home in Alabama. The Cutters will get a player from Alexandria's roster before the start of the 2006 season.
The Cutters kick off the 2006 season on May 25th as they travel to take on the Brockton Rox. The Cutters will play their home opener on May 29th against 2005 Champion, Worcester Tornadoes.
