Williamsport Crosscutters News Release

Williamsport rallied from an early hole for the second straight night, but this time Geoff Broussard was able to hold the lead. He notched the three-inning save as the Cutters beat Auburn 5-4.

Roman Quinn, Larry Greene and Yan Carlos Olmo all had multi-hit games, while Chace Numata drove in three runs.

Andre Kinder picked up his first win in relief of starter Ulises Joaquin, pitching 2.2 scoreless innings, while allowing just one hit.

Joaquin struck out six, but gave up three runs in 3.1 innings of work.

The Crosscutters rallied from a 3-1 hole to get the win.

After J.R. Higley led off the first with a solo homer before Numata tied it up in the third on a sac fly to center.

Then Auburn jumped on top 3-1 as Sandy Leon scored on a passed ball in the third and Higley doubled home Craig Manuel in the fourth.

But a four-run sixth inning would jumpstart the Cutters from that point forward.

Larry Greene walked to start the two-out rally. After an Olmo single, Tyler Greene sent a line-drive single to right to play Larry Greene. Then, Quinn tied it on a bloop-double down the left-field line. Numata then broke it open with a two-run double to make it 5-3.

Angelberth Montilla answered with a homer in the seventh, but that would be the end of the Doubleday threat as the Cutter bullpen locked down the win.
