
Cubs Broadcaster Wins Best Sports Coverage Award

The South Bend Cubs radio broadcast partner 960AM / 96.1 FM WSBT has won Best Sports Coverage for Radio Market #2. They were presented the award at the 28th annual Indiana Broadcasters Association Awards Banquet on November 14, 2015.
The award was given to WSBT Radio and broadcaster Darin Pritchett due to their coverage of South Bend Cubs baseball.
"This award wouldn't be possible without the opportunity given to me by Andrew Berlin and Joe Hart," said Pritchett who received his 5th IBA award since 2005. "Their pursuit of excellence in everything they do pushed me to be the best broadcaster I could be. I'm thrilled that during an historic and award winning baseball season for the South Bend Cubs that WSBT Radio could add another award to their trophy case."
"We are incredibly proud of Darin and his work this season," said Team President Joe Hart. "Returning to the airwaves in 2015 was an important step in the growth of our organization. Partnering with WSBT and having an experienced broadcaster like Darin made it sound like were have been on the air for years.
Pritchett will return for the 2016 season as the play by play voice of the South Bend Cubs.
The South Bend Cubs are a Class A minor league team affiliated with the Chicago Cubs. Over the past 28 seasons, the team has won five Midwest League titles, most recently in 2005, and has captured 12 division titles. The team is owned and operated by Swing-Batter-Swing, LLC whose sole shareholder is Andrew T. Berlin of Chicago, Ill.
