Colorado Crush News Release
DENVER - The Colorado Crush will kickoff off their quest for the ArenaBowl when their third training camp begins on Wednesday, January 5. Camp will run through January 24.
Included in this year's training camp is a trip to Las Vegas for practice and a scrimmage with the Gladiators on January 10-12. The Crush will host a training session and scrimmage with the Los Angeles Avengers on January 18 at Pepsi Center.
The Crush return nearly everyone from last year's AFL Semifinal squad that fell just nine yards shy of the ArenaBowl. In all, the Crush's 37-man training camp roster includes 20 players from last year's team, including All-Arena selections Damian Harrell and Rashad Floyd, All-Ironman WR/LB Kevin McKenzie and quarterback John Dutton.
They have also added two-time Kicker of the Year Clay Rush, former All-Rookie WR/LB Andy McCullough and the Crush leading tackler from 2003, Delvin Hughley. Among rookies fighting for roster spots are former Denver Broncos WR/DB Frank Rice (Colorado State), OL/DL Chris Watton and 2004 Broncos training camp participant, WR/DB Ron Israel. In addition to Rice, other players with Colorado ties include former Montbello High School star Darcey Levy.
"This is always a really exciting time of year, when things start up. I'm looking forward to my second year here," said Crush head coach Mike Dailey. "We've brought back all our key guys and added a lot of really good young players that we think can help us. It should make for a great season."
Practices will be held at Adam's 12 Five Star Stadium located at 1500 E. 128th Avenue, Thornton, CO 80241 and at the Crush facility at Wembley Park in Commerce City. All practices are open to the media. Please see the attached training camp schedule to find exact two-a-day practice times.
Colorado will kick off its third season in Orlando on January 30 before returning to Denver to host the Grand Rapids Rampage at Pepsi Center on February 5. Crush season tickets are now available. For more information or to purchase season tickets, visit www.coloradocrush.com or call (720) 258-3400.
