2005 AFL Preview magazine hits newsstands today

NEW YORK – Kickoff of the Arena Football League’s 19th season is less than one month away and fans can gear up with a copy of the 2005 AFL Preview magazine, which goes on sale today, Tuesday, January 4, with a cover price of $3.95.

The first publication of its kind for the AFL, the magazine will be available on newsstands nationwide including Hudson News, Target and Wal-Mart locations. It will also be available for purchase online at the LeagueÂ’s official Web site, www.arenafootball.com.

The magazine, which features a 10-page Fantasy Football section, will be a major resource for all AFL fans, viewers and fantasy players through ArenaBowl XIX, which will be played on June 12 in Las Vegas.

The content will be interesting to both the AFL newcomer and avid fans. Former Arizona Rattlers head coach DANNY WHITE gives a team-by-team analysis and predicts a surprising ArenaBowl champion. NBC analyst PAT HADEN dissects the AFL game and breaks down the key strategic elements of indoor football. There are also team previews, an AFL dancer photo spread and much more.

The 2005 AFL Preview magazine presents four unique regional covers featuring AFL personalities that represent the LeagueÂ’s four divisions respectively. Featured on the four different covers are:

· Philly Gets Serious: Philadelphia co-owner JON BON JOVI and new Soul quarterback TONY GRAZIANI representing the Eastern Division of the National Conference

· The Glove: Three-time Defensive Player of the Year KENNY MCENTYRE of the Orlando Predators representing the Southern Division of the National Conference

· The Toughest Man in Football: Chicago Rush fullback/linebacker BOB MCMILLEN representing the Central Division of the American Conference

· The Most Accurate Arm in Football: ArenaBowl XVIII MVP MARK GRIEB of the defending-champion San Jose SaberCats representing the Western Division of the American Conference

The magazine, published by American Media, will have a print run of 500,000 copies and focused distribution around the 17 AFL markets.
