Crush signs Taiwanese star

Orange County, CA. Kevin Copeland, GM of the ABA Orange County Crush professional basketball team today announced the signing of Taiwanese basketball star Chen Hsin-an to the team, the first Taiwanese player to sign with a North American professional basketball team.

The 6'5" Chen participated in the Sacramento Kings preseason training damp in October 2002 becoming the first player from Taiwan to an NBA training camp. Chen also tried out for the Denver Nuggest summer league in 2003. Represented by SFX Basketball, John Kim, Manager of the Asia Pacific Division of SFX stated, "We are honored that Sean has chosen SFX to represent him and it is our belief that his talent and ability will show well in the ABA and will make him a natural to play in the NBA one day.

Chen added, "I chose SFX to represent me because they are the best in the world at representing pro basketball players. It has long been a dream of mine to play in the NBA and I feel that SFX was the best choice - and the ABA the best way - to reach my dreams.

Chen, 24, is a member of the Taiwan National Team and plays for club team, Ulon Dinos. In 2004 he led Yulon to the SBL title and was named to the Asia-Basket All Taiwanese SBL 2nd team as well as to the Taiwanese Super Basketball All Star Game squad.
