Syracuse Crunch News Release

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Louis Domingue and the Syracuse Crunch recorded back-to-back shutouts with a 3-0 win over the Binghamton Devils today at the War Memorial Arena.

Domingue turned aside all 17 shots he faced, while Mitchell Stephens, Jonne Tammela and Dominik Masin scored to advance the Crunch to 24-12-1-2 on the season and build a nine-game winning streak. Syracuse now holds a 4-1 lead in the 10-game season series against Binghamton.

Mackenzie Blackwood turned aside 39-of-42 shots on goal for the Devils. Syracuse converted on 1-of-7 power play opportunities, while killing all five Binghamton man-advantages.

After a scoreless first period, the Crunch broke the stalemate on the power play 1:43 into the middle stanza. Alexander Volkov carried the puck away from a battle in the corner and backhanded a feed for Stephens to one-time from the right circle. Jamie McBain recorded the secondary assist.

Syracuse doubled their lead six minutes later. Michael Bournival circled the zone and chipped a pass to Daniel Walcott at the blue line. He ripped a shot that was blocked, but Tammela dove to jam in the rebound behind Blackwood.

The Crunch went up by three just 1:12 into the third period. Matthew Peca sped down the left wing and fired on net. The rebound kicked out for Masin to clean up from the left faceoff dot.

Syracuse is back in action when they travel to face the Belleville Senators on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
