
Crude announce commitments

Oklahoma Crude News Release
Valentine's Day, February 14, 2004, several young men committed to report to training camp with the Oklahoma Crude. Training camp begins February 23. The first game is on the road at Beaumont, TX. March 13, 2004
New players signing letters of intent to play for the Oklahoma Crude of the National Indoor Football League include: Detrick Whitehead, Jason Frazier, Ryan Mercer, Charles Owens, Elijah Kennedy, Bradley Jefferson, Richard Awiti, Steve Bartley. "We are looking for good things from these guys and the others reporting through out this week and next." Coach Tim Stephens said.
"Additionally, we are in negotiations with several veteran players from the NFL and AFL 1 & 2 Leagues." Stephens said. He went on to say that daily calls are coming in from Division 1, 2, and 3 players. He expects to bring many of them into camp for two-a-day workouts and evaluation before cutting to the 25 man roster.
The Crude training camp will be held at the Stage store in Oakwood Mall for conditioning and play development at the National Guard Armory for offensive and defensive development. For a pre-season schedule, contact the Crude offices at 580-233-2704. Fans are invited to attend training camp to support the team.
The Oklahoma Crude, under local ownership of Mrs. Jamie LaMunyon, plays a 14 game schedule. Seven games at their home arena the Chisholm Trail Expo Center. The first home game is March 20 at 7:00pm vs. the Tri City Diesel of Kearney, NE. Season tickets are currently on sale by calling the Expo box office at 237-0238.
A weekly coaches' show can be heard on radio station 104.7, The Rocket every Saturday morning at 9:30. The show is pre-recorded on Thursday evening at the Willow Street McDonald's. The Rocket also plans to broadcast all the Oklahoma Crude games this season.
