Jackson, Tenn. - Building on their Opening Night victory, the Jackson Generals (2-0) skewered the visiting Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, 14-6 on Friday at The Ballpark at Jackson. A 19-hit attack drew multi-hit contributions from seven different Generals' players, including a two-homer night from catcher Matt Jones and a 3-for-4 effort from shortstop Galli Cribbs.

Joel Payamps (1-0, 3.00 ERA) struck out the side in his first relief appearance of 2018, adding two more punchouts over the next two innings while securing the win. He and Gabe Speier gave up only three combined hits in five innings of relief work between the two of them, helping keep the Jumbo Shrimp (0-2) without a win. Cribbs continued his surprising first-week tear, blasting his second homer of the year in as many games while totaling four runs scored and three RBI. Seven different players in the Generals' lineup had multi-hit games, and the pitching staff struck out 16 to atone for a pair of errors in the field.
