Buffalo Silverbacks News Release
Buffalo, NY. The Creditors Interchange "Do Your Best, Never Quit" community outreach initiative continues to received documented positive feed back of the impact it is having on the Western New York community. Sonja L. McAllister of Hillside Children's Center wrote in a letter to the Silverbacks:
"I want to applaud your efforts (Modie Cox) on behalf of the Buffalo Silverbacks for the work you are doing to support our at-risk youth. The "Do Your Best, Never Quit" clinic that you offered to our youth in therapeutic foster care program last week was a great inspiration for them. You captured their attention so that they could hear your message. All of these adolescents have come from challenging situations and need all the role models, adult connections and hope that they can get. Many were very impressed with your success story and the challenges you faced coming up. Your personal story will stay with them throughout any future trying times as they grow and develop into responsible young men and women. They will remember how Modie Cox overcame obstacles and how did he do it? By doing his best and never quitting. They will remember what got you through tough times and helped you achieve your goals. If Modie can do it, so can I! They will also believe they can reach their goals.
Thank you for offering these boys and one young lady hope for a strong and positive future. I recommend your program for all young people who are struggling top achieve their goals against tough odds. Our staff agrees that this clinic was a great benefit to the boys and girls."
The Creditors Interchange "Do Your Best, Never Quit" initiative is a series of ongoing seminars teaching youths to focus on the effort they apply to a situation and not the result. Since June, Buffalo Silverbacks basketball players have delivered more than 70 seminars all over the WNY region at local community centers and youth organizations.
