HICKORY, NC- The Crawdads wrapped up the first half of the season in Lakewood over the weekend and will start the second half against the Greensboro Grasshoppers at L.P. Frans Stadium this Thursday at 7 p.m.! Before the second half kicks off, Hickory will have the second-most amount of representatives on the Northern Division All-Star Team with five Crawdads being selected to play in the 2012 SAL All-Star Game on Tuesday in Charleston, South Carolina - INF Hanser Alberto, OF Chris Grayson, RHP Nick Martinez, RHP Phil Klein, and LHP Victor Payano.
The Crawdads wrapped up the first half of the season with a 36-33 record, in 3rd place in the Northern Division. The Greensboro Grasshoppers won the First-Half Northern Division Championship and have guaranteed a 2012 playoff berth.

Five Crawdads suit up for Northern Division Team in All-Star Game on Tuesday!
The Crawdads will be well represented at the 2012 SAL All-Star Game this Tuesday in Charleston, SC with five players suiting up for the Northern Division Team, the second-most amount of representatives in the division. SS Hanser Alberto and LF Chris Grayson will both start for the Northern squad, while RHP Phil Klein, RHP Nick Martinez, and LHP Victor Payano will all be in the bullpen.
The All-Star game will start at 7:30 p.m. this Tuesday at Joseph P. Riley Jr., Park in Charleston. Be sure to tune in and catch all the All-Star action on Riverdogs.com .
PLAYER AND TEAM NOTES:
-The Crawdads have racked up the 5th-highest team batting average in the SAL (.267)
-Hickory has also belted 54 home runs, fourth-most in the league
-The 'Dads are currently 3rd in the SAL with 96 stolen bases, and have only been caught 28 times
-Hickory is 4th with a .409 slugging percentage, and are one of only four teams in the league over .400 in that department
-The 'Dads hurlers rank 6th in the league with 536 strikeouts
-All-Star SS Hanser Alberto finished the first half with the 2nd-highest batting average in the league (.339)
-All-Star LHP Victor Payano has limited the opposition to a .216 average, 4th-lowest in the SAL
-RHP Luke Jackson has the 5th-highest strikeouts per nine innings ratio (10.13)
-RHP Arlett Mavare leads all SAL relievers with a 13.02 strikeouts per nine innings ratio
