LAKE COUNTY, Ohio - 3B Erik Morrison's solo home run in the sixth inning lifted the Hickory Crawdads to a 2-1 win against the Lake County Captains before 1,452 fans at Classic Park in Lake County.

The Crawdads (13-12) struck first with a run in the opening inning, after CF David Paisano led off the game with a single up the middle of the infield against LHP T.J. McFarland, who would pick up the no-decision. After McFarland retired an out in the frame, RF Mike Bianucci stepped up to the plate and broke the scoreless tie with an RBI double, scoring Paisano all the way from first base. It was Bianucci's team-leading 20th RBI and 10th double of the season.

Lake County (10-14) got on the board with a run in the third inning, facing RHP Carlos Pimentel (1-1). SS Mark Thompson led the inning off with a double, and came in from second on an RBI single hit later in the inning by DH Nate Recknagel to tie the game, 1-1. Pimentel dealt five innings on the game, only giving up the one run on seven hits with one walk and two strikeouts to earn his first win of the season.

The tie remained intact until the top of the sixth frame, when RHP David Roberts (1-1) took over on the mound for the Captains. Roberts retired the first two batters he faced in order, but then Morrison took him yard with his first homer of the season, and fourth RBI in his first four games, to put the Crawdads back in the lead, 2-1.

LHP Yoon-Hee Nam and RHP Tyler Tufts split the final four innings on the mound, shutting the Captains out the rest of the way. Nam only allowed two baserunners in the sixth and seventh, one on a walk and one on an error, before Tufts retired the six batters he faced in order in the eighth and ninth to earn his first save of the season, and nail down the 2-1 win for the Crawdads to start the four-game series in Lake County and eight-game road trip.
