Crasilneck Scores Twice to Lead Portland in Road Win

BURNABY, B.C. - Midfielder Jordan Crasilneck scored twice in the second half to lead the Portland Timbers U-23s to a 2-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps Residency at Simon Fraser University on Sunday afternoon.

Crasilneck netted his first goals of the season, forward Ryan Youngblood recorded both assists and goalkeeper Garrett Staples logged four saves in the shutout to lead the Timbers U-23s (6-2-1, 19pts) past the Whitecaps Residency.

After a scoreless first half, Crasilneck, a native of Eugene, Ore., broke the stalemate in the 53rd minute and then added the insurance goal in the 66th minute. With the win, Portland moved into a two-way tie with the Seattle Wolves for second place in the Premier Development League's Northwest Division.

Midfielder Gagandeep Dosanjh and forward Dever Orgill teamed up to take 12 of 14 total shots for the Whitecaps Residency (2-2-2, 8pts), who were dealt their second loss in four matches. The Whitecaps Residency is one of four professional teams in the PDL.

The Timbers U-23s play three of their next four matches at home, starting on Sunday, June 14 against the Tacoma Tide at Lincoln Park Stadium in Forest Grove, Ore., at 3 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door; gates open at 2 p.m.
