Central Valley Coyotes News Release

FRESNO – Two players who had a significant impact with the Central Valley Coyotes last season and were eligible for free agency have re-signed with the arenafootball2 team, head coach Fred Biletnikoff Jr. announced today.

Wide Receiver/linebacker Marvin Brown and wide receiver/defensive back LaMonte Jones each inked one-year deals.

"I really believe these two signings put us in the right direction, working towards a winning season," said Biletnikoff Jr., who was the Coyote offensive coordinator before taking over as head coach last mid-season. "Both of these guys came in and made positive impacts on our team. I am looking forward to having them back."

Jones (5-10, 175 pounds), who was the team's second leading receiver and scorer, had 76 catches for 865 yards and 18 touchdowns in 16 games. On defense, he recorded 24 and a half tackles and a pass break up. He was also second on the team in kick returning with 121 yards on seven returns.

"It's great to be able to stay somewhere you are familiar with," said Jones. "With one year under my belt I am looking for not only myself but the whole team to improve."

Brown (5-11, 180 pounds) will also be entering his second year with the Coyotes after playing the first half of last season before breaking his right arm. In eight games, he caught 29 passes for 334 yards and five touchdowns. He also tallied 20 tackles and one sack on defense.

"I am looking forward to having a better year from a team standpoint," said Brown. "It took us a while to gel last season but I hope the team can come together faster this year."

Fifty dollar deposits for 2005 Coyote season tickets, which include eight games played at Selland Arena, are now being accepted at 559-498-1182.
