
Coyotes open spring training

Edinburg, TX- The Edinburg Coyotes officially began their quest for the United League Baseball championship as they began their spring training practice last night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
"We're just preparing ourselves for the season and trying to get in the best shape as possible," field manager Vince Moore said. "We have one week to get ourselves ready mentally and physically."
The Coyotes began practice at 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. last night and will continue the same practice schedule until the season opener on May 13. Due to Media Day on Friday, practice will begin from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Some of the familiar faces that attended spring training for the Coyotes are second baseman Eric Gonzalez and pitcher Eric Montoya.
Gonzalez finished last year with 90 hits and added 10 home runs while Montoya finished the season with a 6-4 record and ending up with an ERA of 3.54
