Central Valley Coyotes News Release

(Fresno, Ca) - The Central Valley Coyotes begin preparations for their third season when training camp opens on March 12th. Players will report Sunday afternoon and immediately start the season with team meetings and physicals, workouts are scheduled to start on Monday March 13th. The first cuts are due on Wednesday March 15th, when each af2 team must be down to 30 players on their roster. Final cuts will be made prior to Monday March 27th, when each team must be cut down to 22 players.

With the loss of some key players to AFL, competition at some positions will be fierce; one such position is quarterback. With the loss of 2005 starting QB Juston Wood, now the starting QB for the New York Dragons, the QB spot is up for grabs. Ferni Garza, who backed up Wood in 2005, is returning and with the addition of rookies Ryan Porter from NW Oklahoma State and Daniel Taylor from Texas AM Kingsville the competition should be an interesting to watch. Other players, lost to the AFL, that will be tough to replace include FB/LB JuJuan Huddleston now playing for the San Jose Sabercats, OL/DL Ricky Gasbar now with the Arizona Rattlers and WR/DB Anthony Arceneaux now with the Las Vegas Gladiators.

The Central Valley Coyotes open their season at home against Rio Grande Valley Dorados on April 1st. Season, corporate, and group packages are still available!
