Edinburg Roadrunners News Release

SAN ANGELO, Texas- The Edinburg Coyotes dropped another game to the San Angelo Colts with a 14-1 loss Saturday night at Foster Field. The Coyotes had to work from behind all game and could only manage one run on seven hits.

The Colts' offense, on the other hand, continued to swing a hot stick as they started the game exactly the same way they started the game before. In the first three innings, the Colts scored 12 runs with seven hits against Coyotes' pitchers.

But the Coyotes' pitching staff did not help their own cause as they allowed 11 walks through the first five innings. Seven out of the 11 walks accounted for seven runs for the Colts.

The only highlight for the Coyotes' offense came in the top of the sixth inning. Argelis Nunez hit an RBI double down the left field line that scored Daryl Jones from second base.

But the Colts answered right back and added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning against Julio Castro. Albert Gonzalez came in to score on an RBI double by John Anderson. Then Anderson was brought in by an RBI single by Jose Torres which made the score 14-1.

The Coyotes and Colts will wrap up the regular season with the series finale on Sunday night at Foster Field with the first pitch at 6:05 p.m. The Coyotes will start the ULB Playoffs on the road in Amarillo starting on Monday night at the Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa.
