Coyotes Announce First Tryout for 2008 Team

The 2008 af2 season is right around the corner and the Central Valley Coyotes are looking for motivated and dedicated players to help build toward another playoff year. The Coyotes fielded 17 rookies in 2007 and made all the way to the second round of the playoffs. 2008 could be the year for Central Valley, and the Coyotes want to see whose got what it takes.
"Times have definitely changed for the Coyotes since 2004," stated Biletnikoff. "After making the playoffs two years in a row and beating Manchester last year for our first playoff win, the phones haven't stopped ringing with players wanting to play here."
The tryout will be held in Fresno on November 17th, 12:00pm at the Velocity Sports Performance facility. "Owner Bill Costa has put together a state-of-the-art training facility right here in Fresno and for the second year in a row we are fortunate to have partnered with him to host our tryout," said Biletnikoff.
Attire for the tryout will be shorts or sweats, tee shirts or sweat shirts. Participants must bring both shoes for indoor testing and cleats for outdoor testing. Participants will each receive a tee shirt.
The first part of the testing will be indoors and players will be tested in the 40 yard dash, a 3 Cone L Drill, the bench press (225 x max reps), the vertical jump, and the 20 yard short shuttle. Position specific individual drills will also be conducted indoors. No screw-ins or no molded spikes will be allowed in the Velocity Training Center.
The second portion of the tryout will be conducted at Hoover High School. When testing is done at Velocity, the group will head outdoors to continue with position specific drills and 1 on 1's. Hoover High School is directly across the street from the Velocity facility. Cleats will be needed for this portion of the tryout.
