
Coyotes and Lightning to Renew Young Rivalry

Central Valley Coyotes News Release
(Fresno, Calif.) - The Central Valley Coyotes (1-0) who look to continue their dominance over the Stockton Lightning (0-1) will travel to Stockton on Saturday April 14, 2007. The Coyotes are coming off their home opening night win over the Everett Hawks (0-2) 74-31 and the Lightning are coming off a week 2 bye after losing in week #1 to the Spokane Shock (1-1) 51-34.
Both teams have been through changes since 2006 where the Coyote swept the Lightning in their three meetings. The Coyotes entered the season with 13 rookies on their opening night roster, the Lightning have a new Head Coach Doug Murray.
Both teams have connections to each other; Lightning Head Coach Doug Murray was once the defensive coach in Central Valley under Coyote Head Coach Fred Biletnikoff. Former Coyote players Kenyatte Morgan and JaJuan Huddleston are currently on the Lightning roster. Coyote Defensive Coordinator Derrick Chachere also has a connection to Huddleston of the Lightning, having coached him when both were with the San Jose Sabercats in 2006. Another player with ties to both franchises is Coyote FB/DL Damian Walker who was a member of the Lightning in 2006.
Saturday's game will be broadcasted on 1430 ESPN Radio; play by play will be brought to you by Guy Haberman and Bryan Whitmore. The Coyotes return home on April 21st for their first ever meeting with the expansion Tri-Cities Fever, kick off for that game will be 7 P.M.
