Central Valley Coyotes News Release

FRESNO – The Central Valley Coyotes of the arenafootball2 league have been assigned wide receiver/defensive back Harbert Briscoe and offensive/defensive lineman Eric Everley, head coach Fred Biletnikoff Jr. announced today.

"With these two additions we are looking to have a very competitive training camp," Biletnikoff Jr. said. "I am excited to see how things play out before we open the season in April."

Briscoe (6-2, 215 pounds) will enter his first af2 season. The wide receiver earned All-League honors at City College of San Francisco in 1998 and 1999. Briscoe would later transfer to New Mexico State where he played wide receiver for two years (2001-2002) and eventually earned a spot on the West All-Star team in the 2003 Paradise Bowl.

Born on September 5, 1979, Briscoe is a native of San Francisco, Calif. He attended Arch Bishop Riordan High School where he was an All-Bay Area receiver.

"I've known about Harbert for a long time, having coached against him at San Francisco City College," said Biletnikoff Jr., who is also the offensive coordinator at Fresno City College in the offseason. "He is a magical wide receiver who has the potential to be our feature offensive weapon."

Everley (6-5, 325 pounds) will also be joining the Coyotes in his first af2 season. The lineman will not be new to playing both sides of the ball as he played defensive end and sometimes offensive tackle at Kansas State University from 1997-2002. In his first two seasons as a Wildcat, Everley played in 18 games at defensive tackle as a reserve. In 2001, he earned a starting position but would later miss the entire regular season to a back injury.

Born on December 15, 1978, Everley is a native of Independence, Mo. where he was a first-team All-Metro defensive end at Fort Osage High.

"With his experience, Eric has a chance to come in and anchor our front line," the Coyote head coach said. "I feel like we have an excellent core of guys competing for linemen positions."

The Coyotes will kick off their 2005 af2 season with an exhibition game at Selland Arena on March 27. The regular season starts on the road in Bakersfield on April 2. Fifty dollar deposits for 2005 Coyote season tickets, which include all nine games played at Selland Arena, are now being accepted at 559-263-9780.
