Courage Introduces the 'Kickback Zone'

Morrisville, NC (May 5, 2003) - Summer just got a little bit cooler at SAS Stadium. The Carolina Courage has announced the opening of the "Kickback Zone" - a special outdoor area featuring live music and frosty adult beverages. Accomplished singer/songwriter Vaughan Penn will perform an hour-long set before home games on May 24th, June 11th, and July 30th.
For those who are looking to unwind this summer, come by SAS Stadium to enjoy live music, cold drinks, and the hottest soccer action in the world. Admission to the "Kickback Zone" costs only $5 and includes your first beer.
Nominated for Acoustic Artist of the Year by the National Academy of Songwriters, North Carolina-born Vaughan Penn released her third album "Transcendence" in February of this year. Her powerful songs have been featured recently on Fox's Boston Public.
"We are always looking at ways to create a more festive atmosphere at the soccer park," said Courage General Manager Scott Travasos. "The 'Kickback Zone' is just one more feature that makes attending a Carolina Courage game such an attractive summer entertainment alternative.''
The Courage will play its next home game against Julie Foudy and the San Diego Spirit on Saturday, May 24th at 4 pm at SAS Stadium in Cary. A limited number of premium seats are still available and can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at (919) 834-4000 or by stopping by Kroger's, Hecht's, Schoolkids Records or the SAS Stadium box office.
