Countdown to Face-Off
Published on October 14, 2006 under International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
For the second consecutive game, the Kalamazoo Wings will battle the Elmira Jackals at the First Arena. The K-Wings received superb goaltending from Tom Askey and a balance offensive attack to defeat the Jackals on opening night.
The K-Wings power-play played a pivotal role scoring three goals in the first game against the Jackals. Forwards B.J. Radovich and Scott Dobben lead Kalamazoo's scoring attack with two points a piece. Today's contest will also conclude the K-Wings two-game abbreviated road swing.
Good goaltending couldn't overcome the 19 power-play opportunities Elmira gave to Kalamazoo. The Jackals were penalized for 96 minutes in Friday's game, while goaltenders Shawn Degagne and Kris Tebbs combined for 39 saves.
