Countdown to Face-Off
March 4, 2006 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
The Kalamazoo Wings will conclude their three-game home stand tonight with a game against the Missouri River Otters. The K-Wings are 1-1-1 against the River Otters with season; however, Kalamazoo won 8-1 back on November 4th, in the lone appearance between the teams at Wings Stadium.
Tonight is a big game for the Kalamazoo Wings. With Muskegon idle, a Kalamazoo win would propel the K-Wings into first place in the Central Division. The K-Wings come into the game on a seven-game unbeaten streak and a league high four-game winning streak.
Like Kalamazoo, Missouri brings in a winning streak into the game. The River Otters have won two straight games; in fact, in their last seven games, the River Otters are an impressive 5-1-1. Missouri has played well against the Central Division, as the Otters have won three straight games against teams from the Central.

On a Roll
The K-Wings come into this game on a seven-game unbeaten streak. In their past seven games, Kalamazoo has a record of 6-0-1, which includes a four-game overall winning streak. The four-game winning streak is the longest current winning streak in the UHL.
Making History
With his first shift of the game, defenseman Mark Vilneff will make K-Wings UHL franchise history. Tonight will be Vilneff's 216th game with the UHL K-Wings; the 216 games will establish a record for most games played in K-Wings UHL history. Villneff will surpass Randy Holmes' (1999-02) record of 215 games. Tonight will also be Vilneff's 750th UHL game, Mark ranks second in UHL history behind Missouri's Jim Duhart (826) for games played.
More Milestones
Two other K-Wings are approaching personal milestones. Tonight will be forward Kory Karlander's 600th career game, while Daniel Carriere needs two more points to reach 200 for his career.
