PRINCE GEORGE, BC- The Prince George Cougars have called up forward Craig Armstrong ('03), the team announced today.

Armstrong, 15, was the Cougars' first pick, ninth overall, in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft. The Airdrie, AB product plays for the Edge School Mountaineers at the Midget Prep level, in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League. Armstrong has averaged a point per-game this season, with 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points in 24 games. Armstrong made his WHL debut earlier this season against the Kelowna Rockets on January 4th.

Last season, Armstrong played for the Airdrie Xtreme in the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League (AMBHL). He was the top scorer for the Xtreme in the regular season, as he tallied 23 goals and 31 assists for 54 points in 34 games. He led the AMBHL in playoff scoring as well, with 14 goals and 10 assists for 24 points in 13 games. Armstrong guided the Xtreme to the 2017-18 AMBHL championship.

Armstrong's call up comes after forward Ilijah Colina ('00) has returned home for personal reasons, which is fully supported by the Cougars organization.
