Cottonmouths to Host Mascot Tryouts

The Columbus Cottonmouths Organization is in search of a new mascot performer for the 2012-13 season. The Snakes are looking for someone with a bubbly, outgoing personality who has a love for entertaining crowds, especially children.

Requirements include:

A commitment to all 28 regular season home games, including nights and weekends, as well as all playoff games. Regular season game dates will not be determined until late summer 2012, while playoff dates are often given with less than a week's notice in April.

Availability for outside promotional appearances throughout the season, including school functions and community events.

Must be 18 years or older.

Good physical condition/strong mobility - ability to climb stairs, walk around arena for several hours per game.

Preferred but not required are previous mascot experience and ability to skate.

Anyone meeting these requirements who is interested in applying to be the Cottonmouths' next mascot can visit our official website, cottonmouths.com, click on the `contact us' tab and fill out an online application on the left-hand side. Select qualified applicants will be contacted for interviews. From the interview process, a handful of candidates will be invited back to perform a routine or skit (maximum three minutes long) in front of a panel of judges on Thursday, June 28. Tryouts will be open to the public to watch; more details to follow. A mascot will be selected, based on their application, interview and performance by early July.
