Columbus Cottonmouths News Release

The Columbus Cottonmouths will participate in Movember, a worldwide campaign to raise awareness for prostate cancer throughout the month of November. This Cottonmouths event is being sponsored by Urology Center of Columbus, Van Dykes for Men and Columbus Regional Healthcare Systems.

Throughout November, Cottonmouths players will join men across the globe in growing their facial hair in support of prostate cancer awareness. The Snakes have created a team on us.movember.com where fans can donate to their favorite player or to the team 'Snakes are back.' Donations will go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, Movember Foundation and LiveStrong.

The Cottonmouths will be wearing special jerseys to commemorate Movember for their home games on Nov. 13, 18 and 19. Jerseys will be auctioned following the game on November 19, with proceeds benefiting the West Central Georgia Cancer Coalition, and will be available for pick up at the end of November. Each fan who purchases a Movember jersey will be invited to participate in our mustache shaving event, to be held at Van Dykes for Men, located at 12 11th Street, on Wed., Nov. 30 from 5:30-7:30 pm. Fans will have the opportunity to shave the mustache of the player whose jersey they purchased, and can pick up their jersey at that time. Those not able to make the event may pick up their jersey any time after December 1.

Stick-on mustaches will be available to purchase at the games on November 13th, 18th and 19th for a $1 donation. Movember tshirts will also be on sale for $20. Proceeds from these sales will also go to the West Central Georgia Cancer Coalition.
