
Cottonmouths Bite Cyclones, 5-3

The Cyclones were looking to add another win against Columbus tonight in Florence, but the Cottonmouths' bite was strong enough to hand Pee Dee it's second loss this weekend. The first period of the evening belonged to Columbus. The Cottonmouths fired three shots past Cyclones' goalie, Brad Buss, to Pee Dee's zero. Two of the Cottonmouths' goals were shorthanded.By the end of the first, the Cottonmouths were up 3-0. Pee Dee gained momentum in the second, scoring two goals. The first was a powerplay goal thirty-four seconds into the period by Allan Sirois, and Geoff Rollins added another to even the gap 3-2. Cyclones' forward Daryl Moore got on the board first in the third, with a shorthanded goal at the 10:03 mark. However, Columbus quickly answered with a goal of their own at the 19:19 mark and another emptynetter to put a cap on the night for the Cyclones. Final score, Columbus 5, Pee Dee 3. The Cyclones will travel to Fayetteville tomorrow afternoon to face the FireAntz. Game time is set for 4:00PM. Pee Dee will return to home ice on February 8th.
