Toronto Arrows News Release

TORONTO, ON - The Toronto Arrows are pleased to announce that Cory Hector is transitioning from his role as Academy Director and Head Coach to a full-time coaching role with the Senior Team ahead of the 2024 Major League Rugby season.

Hector led the club's Academy since its inception in 2019, establishing an identification and development program designed to prepare future waves of Senior Team players and serve as a league leader in homegrown athlete development.

"I'm extremely proud of the growth and development of the Academy to date," said Hector. "Starting the Academy during a pandemic proved to be challenging but also allowed us to be thoughtful in our approach to identification and development. We have demonstrated over the years the success of the Academy with players like Brandan Ferguson, Mitch Voralek, Matt Fish, Brenden Black, Hank Stevenson, and Cole Brown all having spent time with the Academy prior to getting their first team opportunities."

"I'm very pleased now to be moving on to the Senior Team and leaving the Academy in great hands. I'm excited to see the continued growth and development of our program."

Hector's shift to a full-time role with the Senior Team harkens back to the 2019 MLR season, when the Cambridge, Ontario native held similar duties throughout the club's inaugural season in the league.

Further details regarding the club's Academy and Senior Team coaching staffs will be announced in the coming days.
