Chicago Extends Superstar Wing Julian Dominguez

CHICAGO, I.L.- The Chicago Hounds announced today the contract extension of star wing Julian Dominguez.

Dominguez, 27, was a spark plug for the Hounds' offense in 2023. The wing appeared in 13 contests, and 13 starts, and was on the field for 892 minutes. He carried the ball 76 times for 911 meters gained and scored six tries. Dominguez was credited with one line break on the season and finished the year with 36 broken tackles. He made 61 tackles in his first year in Chicago, five of which were dominant.

Prior to Chicago, he spent the 2022 season with the Austin Gilgronis, helping lead them to a 12-4 record. Dominguez earned Second-Team All-Pro honors after running for 915 meters on 104 carries and scoring six tries. The superstar wing beat 28 defenders and broke the line six times over the course of the season.

The Argentinian played for the New Orleans Gold during his first two years in Major League Rugby, 2020 and 2021. Dominguez was amongst the best finishers in the league in 2021. The wing scored nine tries, beat 30 defenders, and had nine line breaks on his 89 carries for 972 meters gained. He capped off the 2021 season with First-Team All-MLR honors.

Over the course of Dominguez's Major League Rugby career, he's appeared in 44 games totaling 3,375 minutes. He scored 23 tries, good enough for 115 points, and ran the ball 303 times for 3,177 meters gained. The wing beat 105 defenders and broke the line 18 times while contributing 184 tackles on defense.
